Master of Information Technology

SAE’s Master of Information Technology (MIT) is a unique course shaped by our creative legacy, blending innovation and cutting-edge technology to empower the next generation of digital pioneers.

Developed in line with ACS standards, this course will see you sharpen your technical skills in mobile and software development, artificial intelligence applications, data analysis, and cyber security. You’ll also develop in-demand soft skills like workflow management and teamwork, critical thinking and effective communication.

Our practical, project-based approach to learning lets you explore the challenging, industry-based briefs that you’ll find in the workforce. Implement software development solutions for real-world scenarios, develop team-based skills using project management tools, and facilitate problem identification and assessment of your solutions.

You’ll also have the opportunity to apply your expertise to dynamic, cross-discipline projects with your SAE peers. These projects will showcase your abilities as a reflective IT professional and will form the basis of your portfolio of work, fit to impress prospective employers or clients.

Round off your studies with a capstone project of your choice, designed to demonstrate your mastery of the skills you’ve developed throughout your studies. Curate an entrepreneurial or industry project, where you’ll produce comprehensive documentation that addresses the project development, deployment, and maintenance lifecycle.

An applicant must satisfy one of the following minimum academic entry criteria:

An Australian bachelor's degree in any discipline or an equivalent qualification; OR

Experience-based entry – A substantial portfolio of work evidencing at least 3 years relevant industry experience.
