The Bachelor of Applied Science in Teacher Education (BAS-TE-ARE) program prepares graduates to become culturally responsive elementary school teachers in Washington State. This program emphasizes relationship-based, student-centered pedagogy and equips future educators to engage in critical community discourse.Designed primarily for graduates of the Academy for Rising Educators' unique AAS-TAADTA dual degree, the BAS-TE-ARE curriculum provides comprehensive training in key areas essential for future educators. Curriculum Planning & Instruction focuses on developing effective lesson plans and instructional strategies to engage students. Teaching with Technology emphasizes the integration of digital tools to enhance learning experiences and adapt to modern classrooms. Language & Culture in Education explores diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, equipping educators to support all learners effectively. Finally, Assessment & Evaluation prepares educators to implement meaningful assessments that measure student progress and success in K-12 settings.Graduates of this program will be well-prepared to enter the teaching profession with the skills, knowledge, and cultural awareness needed to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
