Ontario College Certificate in English Language Studies

This program offers five levels of instruction Foundations Pre-intermediate Intermediate Advanced English for Academic Purposes Hands-on learning The ESL program encourages classroom interaction. You will work on group projects and assignments that require interaction with your peers and in the community. You will practice speaking listening reading pronunciation and writing in a classroom and in labs. You will also learn to do presentations research topics take notes and write texts in English. Highly qualified educators Professors in the English Language Studies program are TESL Ontario certified and include educators holding PhDs and masters degrees. They are knowledgeable in the most innovative and proven methods of teaching English as a second language.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent Or at least 19 years old by the first day of classes.

IELTS - overall score 6.0 with no individual band below 5.5

TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and TOEFL iBT Home Edition (DI Code: 9117) - overall score 80 with no individual section below 20

iTEP Academic - overall score 3.7

PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) online or in person - overall score 58 with no individual section below 49

Duolingo English Language Test - overall score of 105 with no individual subscore lower than 85

Cambridge English Test Exams (B2 First/C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency score) - overall Cambridge English Scale score 169 with no individual score below 162

CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language) online or in person - overall score 60 with no individual section below 50

Sheridan EPA test - Listening Band - 4.0 Reading Combined Band - 4.0 Writing - CLB 7

Sheridan's ESL program EAP level - A minimum score of 70% in listening and speaking and 70% in reading and writing. General Education courses and Navigating Digital Environments (INFO) minimum required grade of 50%.
