Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance - Wealth Management

Finance majors learn money management skills valuable to businesses, organizations, and individuals. Finance graduates consistently rank among the highest average starting salary for any undergraduate major. In addition, opportunities exist in a wide range of specific financial fields. For example, real estate and personal financial planning are ideal for those with strong interpersonal skills who enjoy working with people. Meanwhile, financial analysis and risk management cater to those with strong analytical and mathematical backgrounds.
In the first two years, students take a broad range of classes both in the College of Business and across campus. Upper-level courses focus on developing finance knowledge and skills.

Classes include areas related to: Financial Management, Retirement Planning and Employee Benefits, Estate Planning, Insurance, Individual Tax, and Investment.
Students are encouraged to obtain an internship related to their career plans. In the past, some of our students worked as interns for Ameriprise, BancorpSouth, Edward Jones, Farmers Bank & Trust, Mustard Seed Wealth Management, and State Farm Insurance.

Students are assigned a member of the finance faculty as an advisor to help with class scheduling, professional mentoring, and career placement.

Official transcripts listing courses, examinations, grades, and marks from your high school or college/university. Photocopies may be temporarily accepted if they are certified by an official at the American Embassy or a known world organization. Secondary School/University Transcripts We require a 2.0 minimum GPA for all incoming freshmen and transfer students. New international undergraduate students (*except those who have scores of 410 on the SAT verbal or 19 on the ACT English) must take the residual ACT prior to registration for classes to assess their English skills for placement purposes. An additional placement exam may also be offered (depending on the ACT score) to ensure proper advisement into appropriate English courses. For other international students, the English language requirement of SAU will be met when the applicant has submitted proof of ONE of the following: A score of 500 or higher on the written TOEFL A score of 173 or higher on the computerized TOEFL A score of 61 or higher on the internet-based TOEFL A score of Band 5.5 (overall) on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) A score of 43 or higher on PTE (Pearson Test of English) A score of 90 or higher on Duolingo Completion of Level 109 at an ELS Language Center or its equivalent Completion of EF Level 4 *A score of 410 on the SAT Verbal or *a score of 19 on the ACT English
