The English Language Centre (ELC) provides students with the information they need to make an informed decision about studying English in England. Since its establishment in 1962, ELC has been committed to delivering high-quality English language education while fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. The schools philosophy extends beyond language instruction, emphasizing the value of learning through interactions between teachers and students, as well as among students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Founded in 1962, ELC has operated from its original location in Palmeira Square, Brighton & Hove, since its inception. In 2010, ELC merged with the Eastbourne School of English, which was founded in 1936 and later rebranded as ELC Eastbourne in 2016. In 2019, ELC further expanded by acquiring English in Chester, an institution established in 1976, which now operates as ELC Chester.
At ELC Chester, a dedicated team of experienced teachers and professional staff work together to ensure that students enjoy a rewarding and successful learning experience. The administration team manages enquiries, enrolments, accommodation arrangements, social programmes, and airport transfers, while the management team oversees the schools operations and maintains high academic and service standards. ELC also places strong emphasis on continuous professional development, encouraging all staff to participate in training and professional learning opportunities, ensuring the school remains a dynamic and forward-thinking educational institution.
