Study Abroad (Postgraduate Band 2)

We offer both an Exchange or Study Abroad program for students who want to study at Melbourne for one or two semesters. With both, you can study away from your home institution for up to a year undertaking undergraduate or graduate studies. Graduate researchers can also apply to undertake research at Melbourne, as part of their home degree. There are, however, some important program differences you need to be aware of before applying. This will determine what you can apply for, how fees are paid, and what you need to do to earn credit towards your degree when you return home. You can apply for our Study Abroad program if your home institution doesn't have a formal exchange agreement with the University of Melbourne, or you are nominated by your home institution as a Study Abroad student.

You need to have completed two semesters of full-time tertiary study outside Australia at the time of entry to the University of Melbourne.A minimum in one of the following grading systems or an equivalent grade from any other country:Canada/USA - 3.0 grade point average or higherChina PRC - an average of 75 or 4 (liang-hao ) or higherChile - 5.0 average or 66% or higherEurope - 'C' average in the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) or higherJapan - 70% average or 'C' or higherMexico - 80% average or higherSouth Africa - 60% average or higherUK - 60% average or higher
