Accelerated Master's Program in Agricultural and Resource Economics (MS)

Students in the Agricultural and Resource Economics (AREC) Master of Science degree program have a choice between a thesis option with Applied Economics and Policy Analysis (AEPA) and a non-thesis option with Applied Econometrics and Data Analytics (AEDA). AREC MS depending on the program selected, AEDA or AEPA, requires three or four semesters of coursework. Students complete a 15-credit core requirement including two courses in economic theory and two courses in econometrics. All M.S. students are required to take an intensive three-week review course in mathematics (AREC 580) before the start of the fall semester (July-August). Each semester in which the degree is in progress, students are required to enroll in AREC 596A, the program's seminar course. This course is 1 unit and will be completed 4 times for a total of 4 seminar units for those seeking AEPA and 3 times for 3 total units for those seeking AEDA.
