BA (Hons) Ancient and Medieval History

Applicants are required to have A Levels with grades ABB, with General Studies not accepted; an International Baccalaureate score of 6, 5, 5 at Higher Level, including 32 points overall; or a BTEC Extended Diploma with grades DDD, with equivalent qualifications also considered. A Level History, Medieval History, or Ancient History is preferred; however, applications are welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate an interest in and aptitude for the study of history. Acceptable subjects include Ancient History, Anthropology, Archaeology, Business Studies, Classical Civilisation, Drama and Theatre Studies, Economics, English Language, English Language and Literature, English Literature, Environmental Studies, Geography, Government and Politics, History, History of Art, Law, Medieval History, Modern or Classical Languages, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Religious Studies, and Sociology. Applicants not studying one or more of these subjects should contact the university to discuss their application. If A Level History is not taken, a GCSE History grade 7 and at least one humanities subject at A Level or equivalent are required. BTEC qualifications are accepted as follows: Extended Diploma with grades DDD, Diploma with grades DD plus grade B at A Level, and Subsidiary Diploma with grade D plus grades A and B at A Level.
