Applicants are expected to meet a range of academic entry requirements. For A Levels, the typical offer is BBB with three A Levels required, including Biology, Psychology, or Sociology plus two others; the Welsh Baccalaureate at grade B may substitute one A Level, while General Studies is not accepted, although a strong performance may be considered if conditions are not met. The International Baccalaureate requires 32 points overall with 5, 5, 5 at Higher Level in three subjects. BTEC qualifications are considered, with the Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care or Applied Science accepted at grades DDD, the National Diploma considered when combined with an A Level (DD plus B), and the Extended Certificate accepted when combined with A Levels (D plus BB); CACHE Technical Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care is also accepted with a minimum grade B overall and at least a grade B in key units including Anatomy and Physiology, Research Skills, and Pharmacology. The Edexcel Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) at grade A may be considered in addition to three A Levels, resulting in a variable offer such as BBB or BBC plus an A in EPQ. T Levels in Health, Healthcare Science, or Science are accepted with a Merit overall and a B in the Core, provided GCSE requirements are also met. All applicants must have at least five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English, Mathematics, and a Science subject; Level 2 equivalents are not accepted. Access to Higher Education Diplomas in Health or Science require 60 credits with at least 45 at Level 3 (30 at Distinction and 15 at Merit, including Biology or Physiology) plus 15 at Level 2, completed within the last two years; if GCSEs were taken more than five years ago and the applicant has two years’ full-time paid health or social care experience, only English, Mathematics, and Science at grade C or above are required. Graduate applicants must hold at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s, or a PhD, and must also meet the full GCSE requirements.
