Applicants are required to have completed three A-levels, including A-level Mathematics with grades AAA. Alternatively, applicants may have an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma with 6,6,6 at Higher Level, including Mathematics, and a minimum of 32 points overall. BTEC qualifications are considered in combination with other qualifications: for the MEng programme, a BTEC Extended Diploma with D*D*D* including Distinction in Mathematics and Further Mathematics is accepted, provided applicants successfully complete the Mathematics Aptitude test; a BTEC Diploma with D*D* combined with A-level Mathematics grade A may also be considered with a successful Mathematics Aptitude test; and a BTEC Subsidiary Diploma combined with two A-levels, including Mathematics, with grades D* plus A and A, may be accepted subject to the Mathematics Aptitude test. General Studies or Critical Thinking is not accepted, although strong performance may be taken into account if the conditions of the offer are not met. Applicants with alternative Mathematics qualifications may be assessed via a Mathematics Aptitude test as part of the application process.
