Doctor of Acupuncture with Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine (DAcTCM)

Traditional Chinese medicine originated in ancient China and has evolved over thousands of years. Practitioners use herbs, acupuncture, massage, and other methods to treat a wide range of medical conditions in their patients. University of Bridgeport’s Acupuncture Institute (UBAI) is proud to offer the Doctor of Acupuncture with Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine (DAcTCM) program, a comprehensive training in Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, adjunctive therapies, and biomedicine at the graduate level.

Our program is the first clinical doctoral TCM program on the East Coast to be offered within a university setting.Graduates of this program learn how to provide the full range of benefits of traditional Chinese medicine and clinical assessment to their patients, including in those states where traditional Chinese medicine practitioners act as primary care providers.

Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent (120 completed semester hours) from an accredited institution or recognized international institution.

Required cumulative GPA of 2.9 or higher in the science prerequisites.

A minimum score of 80 (IBT); A minimum IELTS Band score of 6.5; A minimum PTE Academic score of 58; A minimum Duolingo English Test score of 95; A grade of “C” or better from an accredited American university for one semester of college English Composition; A minimum score of 19 in the English Section of the ACT Exam; An official letter certifying completion of ELS (English Language Services) Level 112; An official “O” level or “A” level Certificate indicating a grade of “C” or better in English; An EIKEN score of Grade Pre-1 or above; A score of 4 or better on the “English A” Higher Level examination in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.

We review applications on a rolling basis for a fall start term only. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a completed application and all supporting materials by July 15th for priority consideration.
