Applied Sport Physiology MSc (PGCert PGDip)

Sport performance environments have become significantly more data‑rich, interdisciplinary and solution‑focused. Employers now expect practitioners who can navigate complex performance questions, handle large datasets, communicate effectively with coaches and athletes, and design interventions grounded in strong physiological reasoning. This course responds to these professional expectations by advancing your scientific understanding of sport physiology and integrating it with hands‑on, practitioner‑ready skill development. The course is designed around five pillars: practitioner-focused learning, physiology skill-centred development, science in practice, personal and professional development, and emotional intelligence. It blends hard, technical expertise with softer interpersonal skills which are essential to becoming an effective performance physiology practitioner in the workplace.

A good honours degree (normally minimum 2:2 classification) in sport and exercise science or a relevant science-based degree such as medicine, biomedical sciences, physiology, biological science or health science. The degree may contain a human physiology component, and should contain a research training component.
