Clinical Sciences PhD

The Department of Clinical Sciences is part of Bristol Medical School. Staff and students are based in high-quality research and clinical settings across the city, including the Bristol Royal Infirmary, Southmead Hospital, the advanced laboratory facilities in the Dorothy Hodgkin Building and the Biomedical Sciences Building, Bristol Anatomy Centre, and buildings on the Clifton Campus. The department undertakes laboratory-based, translational and applied research. It comprises a mix of fundamental and clinically trained scientists, enabling collaborative translational and healthcare research using a wide range of techniques, from molecular biology to epidemiology. A selection of fully funded PhD opportunities is available within the department throughout the year.
