Why Sport Business Management with a Placement Year You’ll develop skills in managing sports events, facilities and people, as well as capitalising on business opportunities in this dynamic industry. You’ll gain experience through professional placements, students have recently worked for Ironman UK, Gloucestershire FA, Mark Johnston Racing, Gullivers Sports Travel as well as for sports businesses in the USA, Australia and New Zealand. You’ll also build your industry understanding through sports practitioners in lectures with recent guests including professionals from The Football People, Cricket South Africa, Gloucester Rugby and Aspire Sport and Cultural Trust. Your first year will introduce you to the fundamentals of sports business as well as community sports provision. Learn why sport is so important to people and examine the policies and protocols that govern the industry. In your second and final years you’ll deepen your commercial knowledge.
