Biomedical Science - MBio (Hons)

Biomedical Science is about understanding how the human body works — and what happens when it goes wrong. On this course, you’ll explore everything from how diseases develop to how they’re diagnosed and treated in real clinical settings. The MBio Biomedical Science degree at the University of Lincoln combines accredited undergraduate study with an integrated Master’s year. This degree is designed to give you more than knowledge. You will build practical lab skills, learn how modern healthcare diagnostics work, and develop the confidence to move into careers in the NHS, biomedical research, biotechnology, pharmaceutical science, or further study like medicine or postgraduate healthcare training. This degree is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS). Completion of a Biomedical Science degree accredited by the IBMS, together with successful completion of a portfolio of competencies after gaining six to 12 months' experience in an NHS laboratory and gaining HCPC registration are all essential steps to becoming a qualified biomedical scientist. The MBio degree combines all the features of the undergraduate course with masters’ level study in the final year. Why choose Lincoln Because you’ll learn how Biomedical Science is used in the real world, with hands-on experience, supportive teaching, and a clear path into graduate careers.
