Film and Media - BA (Hons)

Film, television, streaming platforms, social media, podcasts, and online content influence how we see the world every day. From cinema and TV drama to TikTok, YouTube, and digital storytelling, media shapes culture, politics, identity, and entertainment on a global scale. The BA (Hons) Film and Media degree at University of Lincoln is designed for students who want to understand how modern media works and how to work within it creatively and professionally. You'll explore film, television, and digital media from both creative and critical perspectives, developing practical production skills alongside industry-relevant analytical and communication abilities. Whether you're interested in filmmaking, content creation, media production, journalism, marketing, criticism, or the wider creative industries, this course helps you build adaptable skills for a fast-changing media landscape. Unlike courses that focus only on theory or only on production, Lincoln combines both. You can study how media influences audiences and society while also gaining hands-on experience in screenwriting, video production, editing, studio practice, and digital storytelling. You'll learn in industry-standard facilities, work collaboratively on creative projects, and be taught by staff with professional and research experience across film, television, media, and digital culture.
