Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Engineering

The Ph.D. program through the Mechanical & Industrial Engineering Department at UMass Lowell offers unique opportunities to its students, with its location in an innovation and technological hub, the growing number of award-winning research active faculty in the Department, the renowned research laboratories, plus much more.

The Ph.D. program requires a traditional research-based doctoral thesis. Please refer to the Mechanical Engineering andor Industrial Engineering graduate catalog for more information on the doctoral programs, including degree requirements, qualifying examination, and dissertation requirements.

Applicants must have a minimum of a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field with a minimum grade point average of 3.000 and a min GPA of 3.250 in science and engineering courses.

Applicants with a M.S. in Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field, must have a minimum graduate GPA of 3.250.
