Certificate in International Business Development

As globalization continues to impact the way we do business, international studies have become vital to success in almost any field. The School of Management offers undergraduate students from across the University an important chance to expand their global knowledge, while also expanding available career opportunities after graduation. This certificate in international business development provides competencies in navigating different social, political and economic contexts across countries, and marketing and entrepreneurial skills and knowledge to develop international business opportunities. The certificate may be earned in conjunction with a degree program or as a stand-alone credential. (Students pursuing a stand-alone credential are not eligible for federal financial aid and may not participate in Commencement.) After the student applies for graduation, the certificate is posted to the student’s official transcript and an official diploma stating the area of the certificate is issued.

To earn a degree, students must complete at least 120 credits, though the exact number varies based on the chosen degree and concentration program. They must fulfill the General Education Program requirements, along with any additional degree and concentration-specific requirements. A minimum number of upper-division credits (300-level or above) is also necessary, with variations across academic units and programs, so students should refer to the specific requirements of their college or school—including the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education, the College of Health Sciences, the School of Nursing, the School of Management, or the College of Innovation and Technology—as well as their intended concentration program. Additionally, students must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.0, though some programs require a higher GPA for completion
