Pre-Teaching Major (B.M.)

The Music Pre-Teaching degree program at UNH offers a path to earn both a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Arts in Teaching in just five years. The program includes four years of undergraduate study followed by a fifth-year internship and graduate coursework for teaching certification. Students study music performance, theory, history, and teaching methods, with the option to focus on vocal or instrumental music. They gain practical teaching experience through several youth programs and develop musicianship through private study and performances in some of the best ensembles in the region.

Secondary and/or university transcript(s) of any coursework taken prior to applying to UNH, with English translations, are required. International documents received by UNH Admissions are verified, scanned, and confidentially destroyed. Official documents submitted will not be returned to the student.
