Master of Medical Science - Physician Associate

The ARC-PA has granted Accreditation-Provisional status to the University of New Haven Physician Associate Program sponsored by the University of New Haven. Accreditation – Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding accreditation-provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students. Accreditation – Provisional does not ensure any subsequent accreditation status. Accreditation – Provisional is limited to no more than five years from matriculation of the first class. Accreditation-provisional remains in effect until the program achieves accreditation-continued after its third review, closes, or withdraws from the accreditation process, or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The mission of the University of New Haven Physician Associate Program is to prepare master’s level physician associates to be highly skilled members of interprofessional healthcare teams. The program is committed to developing clinicians who will provide compassionate and patient-centered healthcare across the lifespan to people of all ethnicities, cultures, or identifiers that may be interpreted as different from the majority. The program places special emphasis on providing a strong primary care foundational knowledge that will train our students to be life-long learners and prepare them to enter a broad range of medical practice settings.
