Bachelor of Arts in Music - Applied Music

At UNC Charlotte, studies go beyond the Department of Music and into Charlotte’s creative community. With bold ideas and broad connections, our talented faculty, students, and alumni are shaping the civic imagination of this fast-growing city. The Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Concentration in Applied Music is designed for students who want to combine training in music with another major. The curriculum consists of General Education and Major Courses, including private lessons, ensembles, music theory, ear training, piano and music history, with credit hours outside of the Department of Music—all of which can be applied to a minor or second major. Students may complete another major, minor or undergraduate certificate and may design their own curriculum to meet their needs and goals. If you are interested in a more intensive study in a certain area of music, explore our Bachelor of Music degree program with six concentrated areas of study. Admission to this degree program in the Department of Music requires an entrance audition and is contingent upon acceptance into the University. Please visit our Admissions page for information about that process. UNC Charlotte is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
