Every child and young person deserves care that supports their health, wellbeing and development. If you want a rewarding career making a difference to young lives and supporting families, Children and Young People's Nursing could be the perfect choice.
You'll learn to care for children and young people from birth to adolescence, developing the clinical skills, knowledge and confidence needed to deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based care. Through university study, realistic clinical simulation and placements, you'll experience the challenges and rewards of modern children's nursing.
At Northampton, 50% of your course is spent on placement across hospitals, community settings, mental health and specialist services. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll gain valuable insight into the diverse career opportunities available to Children’s Nurses.
You'll be taught by qualified Children's Nurses from a range of specialist backgrounds and receive Mental Health First Aid training. Opportunities for European and international placements can further broaden your experience.
Throughout the course, you'll build communication, leadership, teamwork and decision-making skills, along with the resilience needed to support children, young people and their families with confidence.
Approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), this degree leads to eligibility for registration as a Children and Young People's Nurse, preparing you for a rewarding professional career.
