Injury can affect performance, confidence, wellbeing and everyday life. Sport rehabilitation professionals play an important role in helping people recover from injury, reduce future risk and return to physical activity safely and effectively. If you are interested in health, movement and human performance, this course provides the knowledge and practical skills needed to make a positive impact.
Sport Rehabilitation and Conditioning BSc (Hons) combines the science of injury prevention, rehabilitation and physical conditioning to prepare you for work with athletes, active individuals and wider populations. You'll develop an understanding of how the body responds to injury, exercise and rehabilitation while learning how evidence-based interventions can support recovery and long-term wellbeing.
You'll study key areas including musculoskeletal injuries, athlete screening, injury prevention, manual therapies, rehabilitation techniques and strength and conditioning. You'll build expertise in disciplines such as physiology, anatomy, nutrition and psychological management, developing a broad understanding of the factors that influence human performance and recovery.
Using purpose-built laboratories and specialist facilities, you'll develop hands-on assessment, treatment and rehabilitation skills while applying scientific principles to real-world scenarios. The programme is designed to help you develop both technical competence and professional confidence.
A strength of the degree is its emphasis on professional experience. You'll complete work-based learning, providing opportunities to apply your knowledge in practical settings and develop the workplace skills valued by employers.
The programme is accredited by the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT), meaning graduates are eligible for professional membership and benefit from a qualification aligned with recognised industry standards.
Alongside rehabilitation, you'll develop employability, business and entrepreneurial skills that support career progression across a range of settings.
By graduation, you'll have developed the scientific knowledge, clinical awareness and practical rehabilitation skills needed to support injury prevention, recovery and physical performance in sport, health and exercise environments.
