This combined degree brings together scientific curiosity and engineering innovation, giving you the tools to understand our changing world and design solutions that shape a more sustainable future. In science, you will explore the building blocks of life, the environment, and the universe through hands-on learning and discovery. Whether you are drawn to climate science, biology, chemistry, or physical and mathematical sciences, you will develop critical thinking skills and a deep understanding of how science can inform real-world decisions. This complements your studies in Climate Safe Engineering, where you will gain practical skills to apply that knowledge through purposeful design and problem-solving. This approach embeds climate mitigation and adaptation into every aspect of engineering. You will learn to create systems, technologies, and infrastructure that are not only efficient and effective but also safe for people and the planet. At the University of Tasmania, you will learn from and within one of the world's most extraordinary environments. Tasmania is your living laboratory, where ancient landscapes, unique ecosystems, and real-world climate challenges provide endless opportunities for applied learning and research.Together, these two degrees allow you to cross disciplines and build a unique skillset that is increasingly sought after. You will graduate as a scientist and an engineer, prepared to investigate the challenges of today and create the solutions of tomorrow. The ecology major is for students with an interest in interactions between animals andor plants and their environment and who want to explore and develop strategies to understand, support and conserve populations and communities in the natural world.
