Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) in Nursing (R.N. - B.S.N.)

The online bachelor’s degree completion program in nursing (RN-B.S.N.) at The University of Toledo is for those who currently have a registered nursing (RN) license (associate degree or diploma in nursing) and would like to continue on to pursue a bachelor of science in nursing. The RN-B.S.N. program is offered as a self-paced Competency-Based Education program (CBE). The CBE approach to teaching and learning is an individual learning model that allows students to advance in their coursework based on their ability to master knowledge and skills at their own pace, allowing for a flexible timeline. Students can earn their degree in as little as two semesters, full-time, or the typical working registered nurse, taking two courses per semester, can complete the degree in as little as five semesters, part-time.

You are considered a freshman if you are coming to UToledo directly from high school and have never attended university. If you took college courses while enrolled in high school, you are still considered a freshman.

Minimum GPA: 2.75

You are not guaranteed a spot in the Nursing curriculum and must enter a competitive admission process for the professional division after taking two years of pre-nursing courses.

Direct Admission to Bachelor of Nursing

To qualify for direct admission to professional division of Nursing, you must have a minimum 3.6 GPA and a 23 ACT or 1130 SAT score.

High school 3.8 GPA or higher is required for test-optional pathway.

If you qualify for direct admission, you are guaranteed a seat in the professional division of the program as long as you maintain a 3.5 UToledo GPA.

The priotiy application deadline for the direct admission to Nursing is January 1.
