Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Educational Studies

This PhD is a research-oriented program for students interested in any areas offered in the department, including the specializations below. It is designed to prepare educational leaders who demonstrate creative and critical scholarship, proficiency in a broad area of learning and high scholarly attainment. Other areas include continuing professional education, critical multiliteracies, equity in education, Indigenous education, international education, culture and education in schools, community and families. You will consider the expertise of faculty members in the area and with your supervisor to develop an individualized program of study culminating in a substantial research contribution to the field. You can specialize in one of the following areas: art education curriculum studies drama education early childhood education educational technology language and literacy mathematics and science education music education social, cultural and foundational studies
