The BA in Art with a concentration in 3D4M (3-Dimensional Forum) focuses on the study of Ceramics, Glass, and Sculpture. The mission of this program is to explore interdisciplinary exchanges that revolve around material study, concept, and critical dialogue in a studio-based environment. Classes are taught in the Art Building and in the Ceramic and Metal Arts Building (CMA), where there are extensive facilities for ceramics, glass, wood, and metal fabrication. The CMA also houses a foundry, computer lab, and gallery with sound hanging systems. The UW 3D4M program fosters research and conversations at the intersection of craft processes and fine art by emphasizing creativity combined with direct material manipulation as a means to empower artist voices. Through a wide variety of cultural lenses, students are encouraged to connect with their community and broaden their understanding of it through the conversation of art.
