The Year Abroad experience not only enhances fluency and communicative proficiency, but also offers first-hand engagement with inter- and transculturality through cultural immersion. The flexibility of year abroad placement opportunities - including university study, volunteering and work placements in the private and public sector - enables students to get a deeper understanding of the interaction of local as well as global political, social and cultural contexts, and the evolving roles of government and civil society.
