Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

Students in Mechanical Engineering at Valpo develop a broad knowledge enabling them to enter almost any field. They can also specialize in sustainability, manufacturing, or mechatronics, allowing them to customize their degree to fit their particular interests. Students learn by doing in state-of-the-art laboratory and manufacturing facilities and have the opportunity to perform undergraduate research projects, including working in the only solar furnace in the nation at an undergraduate university. Mechanical Engineering students develop strong communication and leadership skills to accompany their technical expertise. Well-rounded Valpo engineers are highly sought by industry, as evidenced by an overall engineering placement rate of greater than 99% over the past four years.

Applicants are required to have High School graduation.

English language requirements: TOEFL (75 iBT minimum); IELTS (6.0 minimum); iTEP (3.8 or higher); PTE (56 or higher); SAT (Reading & Writing score of 500); ACT (English score of 24); GCE or GCSE English exam (Grade of A or B); IB Higher Level English Exam (Score of 5, 6, or 7 or grade A or B); Completion of at least 2 consecutive years of high school and graduate from a US based high school; Completion of Level 112 at an ELS Language Center.
