International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP)

West Bay Elementary, Cypress Park Primary and cole Cedardale Elementary schools are designated 'schools of choice within West Vancouver Schools offering the IB PYP. Since 2005, all students from Kindergarten to Grade 7 attending West Bay Elementary have taken part in the IB PYP. In addition, West Bay Preschool (Early Inquirers) offers inquiry-based activities for three- and four-year-olds. Developed by the IB Organization specifically for this pre-K to 12 age group, the IB PYP integrates the BC curriculum into a framework of inquiry with a global perspective.

This inclusive, enriched program ensures students are challenged to think and question critically. Research skills and sophistication in writing and presenting are significant outcomes of the program. West Bay, Cypress Park and cole Cedardale's IB PYP also offers second language instruction beginning in Kindergarten.
