Over the past 140 years, University of Manitoba has built a strong and engaged community of students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors and community partners. It has more than 140,000 alumni living in 137 countries. It offers more than 100 programs and most of its academic departments have graduate studies leading to masters or doctoral degrees. This is home to St. Andrew’s College , St. John’s College St. Paul’s College and University College, providing smaller classes and creating community. The Co-Curricular Record supports a holistic approach to student development. As Manitoba’s only medical-doctoral university, it offers programs in areas as diverse as the humanities, the visual and performing arts, science, medicine, law, agriculture, engineering and architecture. This strong learning environment has helped nurture a climate of academic excellence.
The University is located on Treaty One territory, on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe peoples and the homeland of the Metis Nation. Across 19 locations, its libraries house more than 2.5 million items, and offer access to 75,000-plus print and electronic journals, and over one million e-books.
