Find out where your favourite UK university ranks in the Guardian Rankings
How does the Guardian rank universities?
The Guardian Ranking stands out because while other ranking systems focus on academic research, this one puts student experience at the centre. It assesses universities based on nine factors which are put together to give each university a total score out of 100. It meticulously combines scores for the nine components of university life that matter most to students, such as course satisfaction, teaching quality, university spending per student, and the percentage of students who find work within six months after graduation.

I. Entry Standards
This considers the grades of students who are likely to get enrolled in their department of study. It’s not the eligibility criteria to get enrolled in the desired course but is designed for prospective students to get a fair idea of the average grades required to join the department of the university.

The Guardian Subject Rankings
The Guardian University League Table provides a list of 54 subjects, allowing you to see which universities excel at teaching your chosen subject. This is important to evaluate as University A may have a higher league table ranking than University B, while University B may have better teachers of your topic. As a result, you must consider both the subject and the profile table to make a well-informed conclusion.
