Both universities offer need-blind admission (meaning your ability to pay does not affect your chances of getting in) and meet 100% of demonstrated financial need (the university will cover the difference between what you can afford to pay and the total cost of attendance), even for international students. 

Additionally, aid is loan-free and primarily made up of grants. Often students from families earning under USD$100,000 annually pay nothing. 

Admission is highly competitive at both colleges, with acceptance rates around 4%. International students wanting to apply to MIT or Princeton will need: 

1. Record of academic excellence: High marks from a recognised secondary education program like Class 12, IB (38+), or A-levels. 

2. High standardised test scores: 
   MIT requires SAT/ACT (1500+ SAT / 34+ ACT typical). 
   Princeton is test-optional but scores above 1500 can strengthen your profile. 

3. Strong english proficiency: Many programs require an IELTS 7.0 or higher for both institutions
