Start Up Bursaries of £1,000 are available to those students (aged under 25) entering the University from care, estranged from their families or those who were homeless immediately prior to starting their studies. The start-up bursaries are intended to cover course related costs such as books, equipment, travel and study aids. These are one-off, non-repayable bursaries which will be paid in the first year only.
There is NO application process, we will decide if you are eligible based on evidence of your Care Experience / estrangement status which you will have sent to your student finance organisation.
To be eligible for my Start Bursary, you must complete a student finance application form - this is the form you complete to apply for your tuition and maintenance loans, maintenance grants etc.
The Start-up Bursaries will be paid once you are fully registered and we have collected your bank details.
