The $2,000 ECU Travel Bursary supports new international students who planned to study in the U.S. but were affected by student visa delays. Open to students commencing a full ECU degree in Semester 1, 2026, this one-time payment helps with travel and relocation costs and is paid after census date in the student's first semester. Eligibility conditions apply.
Eligibility guidelines
To be eligible for this bursary you must:
be an international student (not an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, or New Zealand Citizen) on a Subclass 500 International Student Visa
be commencing a full ECU degree (Bachelor, Master by Coursework, Master by Research, or PhD) for the first time in Semester 1, 2026
not be in receipt of a government scholarship or industry sponsorship or ECU full scholarship for your studies
be enrolled to study on-campus at ECU (Joondalup, Mount Lawley, or ECU City)and
provide evidence with your course application of either:
- a submitted application to a U.S. education institution, or
- an offer letter from a U.S. education institution
All bursaries are awarded at ECU's absolute discretion. ECU reserves the right to revoke the bursary at any stage if a student is found to have provided information that is false or misleading, does not meet the bursary eligibility criteria (including ECU's standard and specific admission requirements), or the recipient does not comply with the conditions of the bursary. In these circumstances, ECU may require any amounts paid to the recipient to be refunded to ECU. ECU reserves the right to decline to award bursaries if, in its opinion, there are no suitable applicants. The number of bursaries to be awarded shall be at ECU's sole discretion. This bursary may be withdrawn from offering by ECU at any time without notice.
