GCU Anniversary Scholarships

Who can apply

We welcome applications from anyone living in Scotland looking to join GCU in first‑year of any undergraduate programmes, starting their degree in September 2026.

Priority will be given to students who would benefit most from additional support, including those who are care‑experienced, estranged from family, from low‑income backgrounds and or first in their family to attend university.

Access to opportunities that enrich your university experience and boost employability:

• Mentoring A dedicated mentor to support your studies and help you navigate university life.
• Internship Support Access to an internship bursary fund - up to £1,000 for travel and accommodation for placements further afield.
• Networking Invitations to tailored events with alumni and industry experts to help you build valuable professional connections.
• Travel Award A guaranteed £1,000 travel award in Year 3 or 4 to support a life‑changing global experience.

Terms and conditions

Candidates are required to complete a short online application outlining your motivations for applying and your financial need.

• Funding supports a full‑time first‑year student for the full four‑year undergraduate degree (starting September 2026).
• Awards are non‑transferable to other courses and cannot be deferred.
• By applying, you agree that GCU may share relevant details with the scholarship donor.

Recipients must provide:

• A thank‑you message to the donor
• A short annual update on the impact of the scholarship
• With your permission, GCU may share your story (anonymised if preferred) to help promote student support.
• GCU Foundation will stay in touch throughout your studies with details of mentoring, internships, networking and travel opportunities.
