Eligibility criteria
You will need to meet one of the following criteria:
- Have been in Local Authority care in the UK.
- Have been in kinship care in the UK at some point in your life up to the age of 18.
- Have been estranged from your parents or legal guardians (and under 25 at the start of the programme).
- Be an unaccompanied asylum-seeking child.
You will need to provide evidence of your status either by providing a letter from Student Finance or a letter from your Local Authority. You will also need to be a hold an offer for one of our undergraduate or PGCE programmes. If you are yet to apply for an undergraduate programme and are concerned about meeting the relevant entry requirements, you may be considered for a contextual offer. A contextual offer is where we will make you an offer that is lower than our published grades.
If you apply through Clearing, you will also be eligble for this bursary.
To allow us to check your eligibility for the bursary, please complete this simple information form. You will then automatically be awarded the bursary. The award will be paid after you have enrolled on your programme.
Payments will normally be made via the Higher Education Bursaries and Scholarships Scheme (HEBSS). You may need to provide bank details in order for the payment to be received.
You don't need to reapply for this bursary once you have been awarded.
