Heriot-Watt Widening Access Bursary (Scotland)

The Heriot-Watt Access Bursary provides students from widening participation backgrounds who are joining us in September 2026 with extra financial support to help towards living costs and will be paid for each year of their undergraduate studies.

A recent survey showed that receiving an Access Bursary alleviated an immediate financial challenge for 92% of recipients, while 94% said their Access Bursary allowed them to focus on their studies. Similarly, recent analysis has shown that students from challenging backgrounds who receive a bursary or scholarship are significantly more likely to progress to the next stage of their degree.
