The Bernard and Frieda Clowes Textiles Scholarships

The scholarship is a joint gift in memory of Bernard and Frieda Clowes, who both had long and successful careers in the Manchester textiles design industry. It aims to support undergraduate and postgraduate students on textiles courses. Funding of up to £18,000 will be awarded to one full-time BA Textiles in Practice student. Value: £6,000 a year for up to three years. Funding of up to £10,000 will be awarded to one full-time MA Textiles student . Value: Awarded against tuition fees for one year (maximum of £10,000). You can only apply for this scholarship if we've offered you a place at Manchester Met.

To apply, you must:

• hold a firm offer to study a new full-time BA (Hons) Textiles in Practice, new full-time MA Textiles course in 2024 (excluding foundation year and distance learning)
• be a UK student (English, Scottish, Welsh, or Northern Irish) paying fees of £9,250 and have a UK Student Support Number
• pay for your course yourself, including through a student loan or a payment from your parents. Your course fees must not be paid by a business, charity or other organisation
• have a household income of £25,000 or less. We'll check this against your Student Finance application. Please contact us if you will not be applying to Student Finance for a maintenance loan.
