Accommodation Award for Optometry and Pharmacy Students

About this scholarship

You may be eligible for £2,000 towards your accommodation fees if you live outside the TS postcode and are in your first year of study on MOptom (Hons) Optometry or MPharm (Hons) Pharmacy.

You can apply for any Teesside University accommodation of your choice, and a discount of £2,000 is applied to your rental agreement.

Accommodation is subject to availability and is allocated on a first-come-first-served basis up until all available scholarships have been allocated or 30 August 2026, whichever is soonest. If your preferred accommodation is full, an alternative is offered.

Eligibility

To apply for one of these scholarships you must:

be from the UK and live outside of the TS postcode area
accept an offer and enrol on one of the following courses:
MOptom (Hons) Optometry – 15 scholarships available
MPharm (Hons) Pharmacy – 10 scholarships available
achieve the following minimum UCAS points from your Level 3 qualifications (full admissions criteria is available on the relevant course page):
MOptom (Hons) Optometry – 136 points
MPharm (Hons) Pharmacy – 128 points
apply for Teesside University accommodation by 30 August 2026.

You have two weeks from the date of your accommodation offer to accept and pay your deposit. Once this is received, the University will confirm your eligibility for the accommodation discount, subject to meeting the criteria outlined above.

You are not eligible if:

• following accepting your offer, you subsequently transfer onto another Teesside University course
• you withdraw from your course during your studies, you will no longer be eligible to remain in University accommodation, and your accommodation discount will cease from the date of your withdrawal
• you defer your start date to a future year of entry.
