In making the recommendations, the Vice Chancellor (or nominee) will consider academic achievement as indicated by quality of achievement at NCEA Level 2 or in equivalent university entrance qualifications. In distinguishing between candidates of equal academic merit, financial need will be taken into account.

The purpose of this bursary is to support female students residing in a hall or village that the University of Canterbury recognises as being affiliated with the University.
Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: The scholarship is tenable during full-time or part-time enrolment in the first year of an undergraduate degree programme at the University of Canterbury.
Special Requirements: Must be female and a resident of a hall that the University of Canterbury recognises as being affiliated with the University.
