Henry Vale Scholarship in Mechanical Engineering

In making the recommendations, the selection committee gives equal consideration to: a. academic achievement in the courses specified in clause 2.2 b. character, leadership potential, and social skills and c. financial need.

If, in any year, there are fewer candidates of sufficient merit than there are scholarships available, fewer scholarships are offered.

These scholarships support students in courses in the field of building services in the BE(Hons) degree programme at University of Canterbury.

Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a programme for a BE(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering at the University.

Applicants must have completed all of the following courses or equivalents: a. ENME 215 Engineering Thermodynamics b. ENME 314 Fluid Mechanics c. ENME 315 Heat Transfer d. ENME 311 Engineering Design and Production Management / Engineering Design and Production Sustainability.

Applicants must be enrolled in at least one of the following courses, or equivalents: a. ENME 405 Energy Systems Engineering b. ENME 406 Engineering Product Design and Analysis c. ENME 465 Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Engineering

Tenure: One year

Number Available Annually: Three (One at NZ $8,000 and two at NZ $3,000).
