In making its recommendations, the committee considers, in descending order of priority: a. quality of achievement in a programme of study as defined b. character, and evidence of leadership potential and of involvement in cultural, sport, and/or community activities c. financial circumstances and d. strategic objectives of the University.
If, in any year, there are fewer candidates of sufficient merit than there are scholarships available, fewer awards are made.
This scholarship recognises and supports top-achieving international students who have completed their university-entrance qualification overseas, or via UCIC and will be commencing an undergraduate degree programme at the University of Canterbury.
Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: The scholarship is tenable during full-time enrolment in a first year of a programme for an undergraduate degree at the University of Canterbury
