Cumbria Global Excellence UG Merit Scholarship

Selection is competitive and based on academic performance, English proficiency, and a unique personal statement. Scholarships cannot be combined with other awards.

Eligibility Criteria 1. All applicants for the Cumbria Global Excellence UG Merit Scholarships must hold an offer of a place of study on an eligible full-time taught bachelor's degree at the following University of Cumbria campuses: Ambleside, Carlisle Brampton Road, Carlisle Fusehill Street and Lancaster. 2. For students enrolling on programmes lasting more than one year the scholarship is awarded at the rate of £2,500 per academic year for a maximum of three years. 3. Students applying for a bachelor's degree with a placement year are eligible to apply for the merit awards, however, it must be noted that the award is not payable during the placement year. 4. Only applicants with an offer of a place in September 2026 will be considered for an award. 5. All scholarship applicants/recipients must be self-funding students with overseas fee status. 6. To be eligible to apply for a Cumbria Global Excellence UG Merit Scholarships, applicants must: a. be holding an unconditional or conditional offer for their place of study b. have accepted their offer for a place of study by the scholarship application deadline c. have paid the relevant deposit and d. have completed the scholarship application form in its entirety, (incomplete applications will be disregarded). 7. Only scholarship applicants submitting a unique personal statement in support of their application (not AI generated) will be considered. 8. The decision of the scholarship panel is final, and the decision cannot be appealed.
