The Cowrie Foundation Scholarship

The University of West London, in partnership with the Cowrie Scholarship Foundation, offers a scholarship for Black African and Caribbean heritage students from underrepresented socio‑economic backgrounds. Applicants must be UK residents and starting an undergraduate course in 2026/27. They aim to support 100 Black British students across UK universities over the next decade.

Eligibility requirements

Applicants must:

• Identify as Black African, Black Caribbean, Mixed White/Black African or Caribbean, or another Black background.
• Have firmly accepted an offer to study on an undergraduate course at UWL for 2026/27.
• Be assessed (or expect to be assessed) as a home student.
• Have a household income of £35,000 or less.
• Have applied for means‑tested UK student finance and consented to share funding information with UWL.

You are not eligible if you:

• Transfer from another UK university.
• Enter UWL through Clearing.
• Already hold a degree (or equivalent).
• Choose UWL as your UCAS Insurance choice.
