Eligible Courses and Countries

The loan is available for regular full-time Graduate, Post-Graduate, Diploma, Certificate, and Doctorate programs in any discipline, offered by recognized foreign universities and institutes in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and across Europe (including Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom).

The SBI Global Ed-Vantage loan can be used to cover the following expenses related to studying abroad:

  • Tuition and Academic Fees: Fees payable to the college/university or hostel.

  • Academic-Related Expenses: Examination, library, and laboratory fees.

  • Travel Costs: Passage money or travel expenses for studies abroad.

  • Course Materials: Purchase of books, equipment, instruments, uniforms, or computers, if required for course completion. Other course-related expenses, such as study tours, project work, or a thesis, may also be included, provided these costs do not exceed 20% of the total tuition fees.

  • Deposits: Caution deposit, building fund, or refundable deposits supported by institutional receipts, up to 10% of the total tuition fees.

  • Insurance Premium: Premium for life insurance or a credit life policy to enhance loan coverage.

  • Margin: Scholarships or assistantships can be considered as part of the margin. Any margin contribution must be provided on a pro rata, year-on-year basis, along with loan disbursements.

  • Processing Fee: ₹10,000 per application.

  • Interest: Simple interest is charged during the course period and moratorium period.

  • Minimum Loan Amount: ₹10 Lakhs

Education Loan

Education loan is offered by SBI bank and SSL act as a referral. Education loan is not an Exchange traded product. In case of any dispute investors will not have access to the Scores/ODR of Stock Exchange/SEBI investor redressal forum or Arbitration mechanism.

Documents Required for SBI Global Ed-Vantage Loan

1. Loan Application & Academic Proofs:

  • Duly filled Loan Application Form

  • Mark sheets of 10th, 12th, Graduation (if applicable) and Entrance Exam results

  • Proof of admission (Offer Letter / Admission Letter / Student ID, if available)

  • Schedule of course expenses

  • Copies of letters for scholarship, freeship, etc.

  • Gap certificate (if applicable; self-declaration for any study gap)

2. Photographs:

  • Passport-sized photographs of Student, Parent, Co-borrower, and Guarantor (1 copy each).

3. Financial & Asset Details:

  • Asset-Liability Statement of Co-applicant / Guarantor (for loans above ₹7.50 Lakhs)

  • For Salaried Persons

  • Latest Salary Slip

  • Form 16 or the latest Income Tax Return (ITR V)

  • For Self-Employed / Others:

    • Proof of business address (if applicable)

    • Latest Income Tax Return (if applicable)

  • Bank Account Statement of Parent / Guardian / Guarantor for the last six months

  • Collateral Documents: Sale Deed or other property documents / Photocopy of liquid security

4. Identity & Address Proof:

  • Permanent Account Number (PAN) of Student, Parent, Co-borrower, and Guarantor

  • Aadhaar Card (mandatory if eligible for GOI interest subsidy schemes)

  • Passport (mandatory for studies abroad)

5. Officially Valid Documents (OVD) – One self-attested copy required:

  • Passport

  • Driving License

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Voter ID issued by the Election Commission of India

  • NREGA Job Card

  • A letter from the National Population Register with the name and address

6. Proof of Address (if OVD does not have an updated address):

  • Utility bills(electricity, telephone,water, piped gas, post-paid mobile; not older than 2 months)

  • Property or municipal tax receipts

  • Pension or family pension payment orders (PPOs) from the government or PSUs

  • Letter of accommodation allotment by employer (Central/State Govt, statutory/regulatory bodies, PSUs, banks, financial institutions, listed companies)
