International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program for Grades 8 - 10

The early high school years are a time of remarkable growth and discovery. At Bodwell, the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) for Grades 8–10 gives students the structure, challenge, and support they need to thrive—academically, socially, and personally.

As an IB World School, Bodwell's specially trained teachers deliver a globally-recognized curriculum that strengthens critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills. With classmates from across Canada and more than 40 countries, students learn to understand diverse perspectives and develop a confident sense of identity within a caring and inclusive community.

Direct admission to MYP 5 (Grade 10) requires strong English proficiency. Bodwell offers one class of MYP 5 (IB Grade 10) each semester for a maximum of 24 students—primarily for IB Grade 9 students moving up to Grade 10 and secondarily for new Grade 10 applicants. These spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis for new Grade 10 students whose English proficiency corresponds to a Duolingo score of 105 or higher.

A minimum 75% average from the most current three of schooling is recommended. We value academic effort and growth.

Upon arrival, international students will write an English test to determine their English level, and subsequently, the classes in which they will be placed.

Students who have already graduated in their home country are eligible to apply. Bodwell accepts students from Grade 8 to 12 who are at least 13 old up to a maximum of age 18.
