Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience - Neuropsychology (Honours)

Neuroscience, the study of behaviour and its underlying neural mechanisms, is included in psychology, biology and other disciplines at many universities, but there is an increased tendency in North America and Europe to offer neuroscience as a specialized major program. Neuroscience combines selected courses from the disciplines of psychology, biology, kinesiology and computational neuroscience that illustrate cellular, physiological, behavioural and computational approaches to examining the nervous system. The program is specifically designed to permit integration of information derived experimentally from many disciplines to gain a better understanding of the relationships between neural function and behaviour. Neuroscience provides information and skills necessary for careers in the health and behavioural sciences. It also provides a firm basis for graduate studies in the neurosciences and depending on choice of courses, prepares the student for entry into medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, chiropractic and physical or occupational therapy.Neuroscience is the study of the nervous system and how it generates behaviour in animals and humans. You’ll study the link between neural function and behaviour at many levels by using techniques in molecular genetics, biochemistry, cellular physiology, neuroanatomy, electrophysiology, pharmacology, behavioural biology, neuropsychology, cognitive psychology and kinesiology. You’ll also assist in active neuroscience laboratory research dealing with humans and non-humans.

International Secondary School Student General admission requirements: Senior Secondary school credential appropriate for entry to university in your home country; Academically rigorous grade 12 year Prerequisites required for your program must be taken at the Grade 12 university-preparatory level (or equivalent) and are the highest level of secondary studies available in your final year of secondary school. You may be required to submit course outlines so Admissions can determine if a prerequisite meets the rigorous academic standard required for admissibility. Minimum B- average (higher for some programs International Out-of-Province Secondary School Students General admission requirements Secondary school diploma; Grade 12 courses at the number and level specified for your province (see below); A minimum average of 70% (many programs require a higher average)
