Our International Business BSc is designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and global perspective you’ll need to thrive in today’s fast-changing international business world. This highly relevant programme covers the fundamentals of national and international market economies, focusing on the forces that shape the global business environment for future global leaders.
A key focus of this degree is helping you understand the challenges posed by globalisation - especially for multinational enterprises (MNEs), which now generate over 50% of global output. You’ll explore the strategies MNEs use to grow and compete in international markets, and you’ll gain insight into how internationalisation, digitalisation, and AI-driven transformation affect areas like human resource management (HRM), entrepreneurship, emerging markets, and global investment.
This programme’s ideal if you’re aiming to build a career in international business or in organisations where a global outlook is a real asset. You’ll develop essential managerial, analytical, and interpersonal skills through real-world case studies and business projects. Brunel's a proud member of the University of London Federation, meaning you’ll earn a globally recognised degree in an international learning environment. You’ll also have the chance to study abroad, boosting your global exposure and employability. Plus, our year-long paid placement programme lets you gain hands-on experience with top companies like Adidas, Microsoft, British Airways, Nissan and more - with many students landing graduate roles after their placements.
The international business world’s being reshaped by tech innovation, digitalisation, and AI. As companies increasingly rely on automation, data analytics, and digital platforms to grow globally, understanding these shifts is crucial. We weave these themes into the curriculum so you’re ready to tackle the opportunities and challenges brought by AI, blockchain, and digital transformation.
We’re also committed to connecting you with global thought leaders through guest speaker sessions, the Annual International Business Week, the Thought Leadership Series, field visits, and more. You’ll benefit from these experiences, where industry experts, policymakers, and global business leaders explore the most pressing issues in international business - from supply chain disruptions and trade policies to the impact of AI on global markets. These events give you a great platform to engage with professionals, grow your network, and gain real-world insights into global business trends.
Brunel’s a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) accredited university, so you’ll get exemptions from selected professional papers - giving you a head start on your journey to becoming a Chartered Management Accountant. We’re also working towards accrediting our International Business BSc programme with the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade (CIOE&IT). Once approved, this’ll give you professional recognition and access to exclusive training, networking, and resources - boosting your career prospects in international trade, logistics, and export management.
We place a strong emphasis on employability, so you’ll graduate with both academic knowledge and practical, industry-relevant skills. You’ll build technical competencies in critical thinking, data analysis, and tools like SPSS and Excel - without needing A-level maths. Throughout your time at Brunel, we’ll support your transition into the job market with active learning sessions in group work, report writing, data analytics, and time management - helping you develop the skills to succeed both academically and professionally.
With a research-led approach, industry-focused learning, professional accreditations, international opportunities, and a curriculum shaped by AI and digital transformation, this degree will set you up for a successful career in the dynamic world of global business.
