Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) is an open access, multi-campus, urban institution and the largest community college in Massachusetts, enrolling more than 16,000 students annually. Established in 1973 and commemorating 50 years of excellence, BHCC spans two campuses in Charlestown and Chelsea, complemented by instructional centers across Greater Boston. Our diverse learning options include day, afternoon, evening, weekend, hybrid, and online courses.
As one of Massachusetts most affordable community colleges, BHCC offers a comprehensive array of more than 100 academic programs, encompassing associate degrees, certificates, and transfer programs to four-year universities. Our dedicated faculty and advisors are committed to guiding students towards their personal, educational, and career aspirations.
In addition to traditional programs, BHCC provides non-credit courses, corporate training, and skilled credentials through the Division of Workforce and Economic Development. The Chelsea campus is home to the Enterprise Center for Entrepreneurship and Training (ECET), offering workshops, business planning, and support for small businesses.
BHCC holds full accreditation from The New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), with additional program accreditations linked to our health programs of study.
Recognized as a Network College at Achieving the Dream and designated as a Gateway to College Institution, BHCC actively participates in Achieving the Dream, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping community college students, particularly those from low-income and diverse backgrounds, succeed in their academic journey.
